Not since Snakes On A Plane or even the Airplane! movie series have we come across an action movie set aboard a commercial airliner so ridiculous and hilarious and over-the-top incredible at the same time, that we can't wait to see it.
One-time Superman star, Brandon Routh stars in China's first English language blockbuster movie, Lost in the Pacific. The movie was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and now we've got our first look at the high-flying adventure in the movie's first official 30-second teaser trailer.
The movie's official description says it is about a giant, luxury aircraft called The Titanic in the Sky. Unfortunately, just like its historical ocean counterpart, the plane hits an abandoned aircraft carrier on its maiden voyage and its pilot, played by Chinese actress Zhang Yuqi, must try to land on an island in the middle of the Pacific.
Routh packs in a few punches in the teaser as he fights for his life, and the plot promises a lot of action and conspiracies to be unraveled as the passengers of the flight realize that the crash is not quite an accident as they are first led to believe.
The film was directed by Vincent Zhou and was filmed entirely in Malaysia. It is China's first sci-fi action English language movie and it will be screened in 3D and 4D.
It was clear that the Chinese production pulled out all the stops with international actors, Oscar nominees Kami Asgar and Sean McCormack for the sound editing, and Academy Award winner Mark Paterson for the final sound mixing of the movie.
Check out the teaser trailer that has everyone on the internet suddenly waiting in anticipation for the worldwide release of a Chinese movie, in English.
