Shortly after announcing that Kingdom Hearts II.8 Final Chapter Prologue would in fact be arriving next year, Square Enix has released the first official trailer showing some of what we can expect from the new game.
The trailer shows some scenes from the newly remastered Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, cinematics from Kingdom Hearts Unchained X and Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage-, which is an entirely new chapter. The glimpse we see of that new chapter features a cave-like tunnel surrounded by glowing slivers of light and looks like it will be told through the point-of-view of the character Aqua. Of course, you'll also see appearances from some of your favorite Disney characters throughout, including Mickey as one of the Three Musketeers (not a Mousketeer), Quasimodo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Pinocchio.
The beginning of the trailer also serves as a reminder that Kingdom Hearts III is in development and is on its way for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It was previously announced that Kingdom Hearts III will include stages featuring the more recently released Disney animated films Tangled and Big Hero 6.
