Apple Postpones WatchOS 2 Launch Because Of Bugged Software

A week ago, Apple announced, among other things, the launch of a new operating system for the Apple Watch. WatchOS 2 features more support for native apps, better complications, and a more seamless UI at the watch-face level.

On Wednesday, USA Today's Ed Baig tweeted that Apple will not be launching the software on September 16 after finding a bug in the software. The scheduled iOS 9 launch will go as planned, but Apple Watch users will need to wait a little longer.

The update is a significant one for the new product. Ever since the Apple Watch's launch in April 2015, the device has been criticized for slow-performing apps and an inability to provide many useful features. Apple CEO Tim Cook is also cautious about disclosing any sales information in order to prevent competitors from getting ahead. It comes as no surprise, then, that Apple really wants to get this software update right.

We are still waiting for an official statement from the company.
