Fans now have an easier way to try on the Apple Watch and see how it feels to wear one before deciding to make a purchase.
Since Apple started selling the Watch in the stores beginning in April, the company has required potential buyers to book an appointment online prior to their intended visit. This is done by entering their Apple ID and then choosing a preferred time.
However, it seems that Apple has changed its policy since it now allows customers to walk into the store and try on an Apple Watch even when they don't have a scheduled appointment.
The move can be described as a way to speed up the process of trying on the wearable as the appointment system is no longer needed. This means that customers who suddenly feel the need to try on an Apple Watch don't have to worry anymore about not being attended to at the Apple Store since they can simply do it at any time during the day so long as the store is open for business.
Customers who tried on the Apple Watch at the store but decided to make their purchase at a later date are also allowed to do so. They can save their preferences and include them in their wish list by entering their email address and the models of Apple Watches they have tried on in the Apple Store website or app. They can then receive a reminder of their preferred models when they decide to purchase either through Apple's online store or through its app.
Previously, we reported that Apple has started selling the Apple Watch on Best Buy's online store and its physical stores across the U.S., which now reach 100 in number. Opting to buy the wearable at Best Buy doesn't require a reservation as the store practices the first-come, first-served policy.
Eventually, Best Buy plans to make the Apple Watch available in at least 300 of it stores before the year ends.
The Apple Watch was referred to by analyst firm Canalys as the "world's best-selling wearable," following the impressive sales record it earned four months after it was launched. According to the company, Apple sold a whopping 4.2 million Apple Watch devices in the second quarter, which makes the Cupertino company the biggest smartwatch vendor on a global scale.
"Apple easily overtook Fitbit, Xiaomi and all the smartwatch vendors despite the Apple Watch's significantly higher pricing," said Canalys.
