'Halo 5: Guardians': First Look At The Master Chief's Campaign And The Return Of Cortana

The Internet caught fire after the first 11 minutes of the Master Chief's story leaked to the web. The action was great, but the ending was even better than we had expected.

Everything began with the Master Chief and his Blue Team bursting through a glass barrier and entering what appears to be a spacecraft. They came face-to-face with an enemy, but he was quickly disposed of as they made their way to the lower deck.

We get to see how the player can command team members with ease. It is possible to command them to take certain positions, along with telling them to pick up weapons. From what we've seen, it would appear Blue Team members can use any weapon on the battlefield.

At one point, the player had to revive one of his team members after being shot down by enemy forces.

Some of the multiplayer features can be found in the single player action as well. We saw the player used the Master Chief to Ground Pound enemies several times, and from our perspective, it looked great.

Near to the end of the 11-minute video, the Master Chief was knocked down a whole of some sorts. Here he slowly walked around until he came across something on the ground. Due to the video being so grainy and dark, it was difficult to make out what it was.

Soon after, something lit up; the ground began to shake, and a voice uttered something to the Master Chief from within the light. The voice is that of no other than Cortana, and to that, the Master Chief spoke her name.

Cortana disappears into the light, and the 11-minute demo ended right there.

We have to say that it was great seeing Cortana again, and it proves without a doubt that she will return in one way or the other.

As for whether or not Cortana will play a major role in Halo 5: Guardians, we can't say, but we'd love for that to happen because she is a pivotal character in the previous games.
