On Wednesday, The CW teased Season 2 of The Flash in a TV promo that focused on Teddy Sears' Jay Garrick. Some fans were left wanting more — and now, they can see what's in store for Barry Allen in this season's extended trailer.
Season 1 ended with Allen/The Flash (played by Grant Gustin) defeating Reverse-Flash, but he quickly had to move on to his next mission and deal with the black hole hovering over Central City.
"We are going to introduce a few more speedsters next year and a bunch more villains. How they and those villains come about is part of the surprise of Season 2. We're really excited," Grant previously told The Hollywood Reporter.
And now we have learned just how those villains will be introduced. We see in the trailer that the singularity left a portal that allowed Zoom, The Flash's next nemesis, to come through. And if Zoom (Tony Todd) can get through, then that means other characters can also enter the stage from this parallel universe. We do get to see the some villains who are after The Flash under orders from Zoom in the trailer — so get ready for action-packed fight scenes.
Along with teasing Zoom's agenda to kill the Flash, we are also introduced to Patty Spivot, a Central City cop. Played by Shantel VanSanten (One Tree Hill), we see Spivot meeting Allen for the first time and assuring Detective Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) that she's up for the task of stopping the villains, even though she lacks super powers.
Season 2 of The Flash will premiere on the CW, Tuesday, October 6 at 8 p.m. ET. Watch the extended trailer below.
