At Apple's long-awaited September press event, in which many major updates and new products were announced, the tech company took the opportunity to announce some upgrades to the Apple Watch hardware.
Two new colors were added to the stainless steel Sport models: Gold and Rose Gold, both of which have an anodized aluminum finish. They're available at the same prices as the existing Apple Watch Sport lineup.
Other casings were updated as well. The Space Black color is now available for Sport models, and the Watch now comes in a special (Product)Red variant, with a bright red band.
In addition to the hardware, watch bands also received some updates. The biggie is the addition of brand-new bands crafted by none other than Hermès. The Hermès band for Apple Watch is a fashion statement that wraps around your wrist twice. Apple also updated its leather bands to some new two-tone finishes, and introduced a new fall collection of Sport bands that come in "vibrant hues" as well as "neutral tones."
All of these upgrades and new models and accessories ship are ready to ship, starting Wednesday. Apple's second-generation WatchOS software will be available as a free update on September 16.
