When the trailer for the new Transformers: Devastation game was released back in July, you probably had a little nostalgia trip over the fact that it looks just like the beloved Transformers animated TV series from the 1980s. Some new gameplay footage recently released by Game Informer shows the game will likely live up to those first impressions.
The video mostly shows autobots Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Wheeljack taking on Devastator and the various Constructicons that come together to form it. The autobots seamlessly transform from their iconic robotic figures into vehicles and vice versa as they take on their enemies, as Transformers tend to do. It looks like we'll find all of the action you could ever hope for from a Transformers video game or animated TV series in Transformers: Devastation.
Game Informer's video also gives viewers a glimpse at Hasbro's new Transformers Generation Combiner Wars Devastator Figure Set, which is currently available in stores. The set includes six lime green Constructicons (Hook, Long Haul, Bonecrusher, Scavenger, Scrapper and Mixmaster), all of which combine to form a giant Devastator. With each of the Constructicons serving its own construction site-related purpose, whether it's an earth mover, cement truck or bulldozer, this enemy of the autobots definitely looks like it's capable of clearing out anything in its way.
Transformers: Devastation will be available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC on Oct. 6.
