The PlayStation 4 beta launch for Street Fighter V was off to a rocky start back in July, when technical difficulties caused Capcom to pull it offline shortly after going live — but it seems like good things come to those who wait.
The Japanese developer and publisher recently announced that pro wrestler character Rainbow Mika is making a comeback in the latest Street Fighter title and will have a strange one-hit kick-out ability that we can't wait to see in action.
Making her debut in Street Fighter Alpha 4, this time R. Mika is bringing Nadeshiko along as her tag-team partner. She'll be able to bring on Nadeshiko as part of her V-Trigger special move — allowing players to set up sneaky attacks and command grab mix-ups that will surely leave damage on their opponent.
While the character can call in her tag-team partner, do a double-butt finishing combo and the Stone Cold Stunner, R. Mika's killer KO ability actually has to do with her doing less fighting and more talking.
R. Mika's V-Skill lets her boost her attack power by giving a monologue. The longer she speaks, the more she charges up.
Khaos Gaming uploaded a video on YouTube showing R. Mika's KO ability in action. After a few seconds of talking, she drops the mic and is ready to take on Ryu. While the monologue is a bit silly – she says things like, "First thing you do is hit the cardio. Next thing, go for full-on strength training" – her words are worth every second. In just one move, the female wrestler is able to easily take down Ryu, catching him in a command throw that takes almost all of his health. And just like that, game over for him.
While we can't wait to play with R. Mika when the game is released, there are also other things to look forward to in the game.
Those who pre-order a copy of the game at Gamestop, Best Buy, Amazon or the PlayStation Store will get bonus skins such as the Battle Costume Ryu skin that gives the lead character facial hair and the Battle Costume Cammy skin, and Battle Costume Chun-Li that features the character in a dress.
Capcom also revealed that the Street Fighter V Collector's Edition will include a 10-inch Ryu statue, a 48-page hardcover artbook, digital Street Fighter comics and a partial game soundtrack, retailing for $99.99.
Street Fighter V will be released for PS4 and Windows PC in 2016. Check out R. Mika's KO ability in the clip below.
