BioWare unveiled the trailer for the very last DLC for Dragon Age: Inquisition during PAX Prime on Saturday, revealing the final chapter (or epilogue, rather) in the story of the continent of Thedas.
Set two years after the events in the core game, Trespasser will be a single-player continuation to Inquisition that will be playable only after the main storyline has been completed. According to the game's developers, the story-based DLC was an experiment that allowed them to explore deeper into the game even after the primary adventure is over.
In a post on the official Bioware blog creative director, Mike Laidlaw, explained that Trespasser “explores what it's like to be a world-saving organization when the world no longer needs saving.”
In an interview with Game Informer, Laidlaw also revealed that the name, Trespasser, refers to Eluvians, or mirrors used by the Inquisitor in the game to travel between spaces.
“In a way, the idea of Trespasser is that you’re entering into some places that no one has gone for thousands of years, so you are 'trespassing' in that space,” he said.
In the trailer screened for the first time at PAX Prime, it is revealed that the Inquisitor is ordered to be abolished. In the two years since the closing of the main game, the Inquisitor has proven itself to be an order worthy of respect. However, that time is apparently over and the heroes must once again step into fix the mess.
Reunite with your team and band together once more to quell the Quinari threat. The game also emphasizes that players can “define your legacy” in Trespasser.
If you want to find out more, you'll have to download the DLC when it becomes available on Sept. 8. The epilogue will only be accessible with a valid post-game save. You will find it as an added operation to the war table.
