Even if you can't fly a hoverboard just yet, you can still ride like Back to the Future's Marty McFly with a replica of Michael J. Fox's character's skateboard.
In honor of Robert Zemeckis' Back to the Future franchise's 30th anniversary (more precisely, the first installation of the trilogy), We're Going Back (WGB), a nonprofit founded by a collective of avid BTTF fans who are planning an array of events for an official commemorative, four-day spree in the Los Angeles area, have come out with the official 30th Anniversary Final Limited Edition Marty McFly Valterra/Madrid Skateboard.
According to WGB's product description, the board is "the most screen-accurate McFly board possible."
Another earlier iteration of the board had previously been available, but after purportedly tracking down "the original, screen-used hero Valterra/Madrid skateboard prop," the folks behind the design decided to give the whole thing another makeover. Hence, the current model, which became available for preorder on August 25 (the preorder offer will no longer be available on October 25th, the last day of the conference).
While there is nothing listed on WGB's site as to how they "finally answered one of the greatest BTTF prop mysteries of all time" and found the skateboard the Marty McFly Valterra/Madrid is blueprinted after, the original will be a part of a good cause. As per WGB's press release and event listing, is will be sold in a BTTF memoribilia auction, with all proceeds going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (Parkinson's is a condition that Fox suffers from himself).
Still a little bummed about not being able to hoverboard quite yet? Check out this video of some of WGB's select BTTF fans getting as close as you can get to floating freely on a BTTF board.
