In the wake of the Joker's big tease for the second season of Fox's Gotham, the television network has also released a photo of Bruce Wayne's future Batcave.
Revealed in the last few minutes of Season 1, the Batcave was just seen as a stalactite-studded portal leading downstairs to a whole lot of darkness, accented by the sound of what seems to be bat wings.
But according to the teaser photo, the fully lit underground chamber below the Wayne estate appears not to be a cave at all, but a fully built, bona fide lair made of brick and mortar, complete with lighting fixtures and some customary debris.
Here is the photo of young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and his gruff butler Alfred (Sean Pertwee) appraising their future crimefighting digs.
According to Fox's official synopsis, the second season of the show will revolve around the origins of some of the DC universe's most iconic villains, both new and old:
"The stakes are higher than ever as Gotham explores the origin stories of some of the most ambitious and depraved Super Villains, including The Riddler, The Joker and Mr. Freeze, and Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) uncovers more secrets from his father's past."
The show confirmed last week that it will also be introducing two original villains, Theo and Tabitha Galavan (played by True Detective's James Frain and Cloverfield's Jessica Lucas), a pair of wealthy siblings who have come back to Gotham with a vengeance.
Fox is set to premiere Gotham's second season on September 21, 8 p.m. ET.
