How could a show based on Gotham City in the years before Batman starts fighting crime possibly be so enthralling? It had no right to be.
Yet, in its first season, Gotham took viewers on a twisting, winding ride of counterplots, manipulations and corruption. In the season finale, the plot turns came at a furious pace, leaving fans with one jaw-dropping stunner after another.
Season 2 is going to have a very different landscape, with most of the major characters in entirely new and different positions. To underscore how all of those juicy twists will alter things for Season 2, Fox has dropped a series of new videos on YouTube called "Aftermath." Sadly, none of them contain footage from the new season, but they do a great job of getting you excited for what's to come.
There are five videos, each spotlighting a different major character. Robin Lord Taylor talks about how much Penguin changed from the beginning of the season to the end, and foreshadows what's to come. Cory Michael Smith notes that Edward Nygma has taken a dark turn from which he will never return. Erin Richards says she's excited for what's ahead for Barbara, while Ben McKenzie considers Jim Gordon's relationship with Falcone and how it evolved over the season. Finally, Sean Pertwee and David Mazouz talk about how Alfred and Bruce's discovery at the end of the season opens up a whole new storyline for them.
The videos also contain nonstop spoilers from the end of the first season, so proceed at your own risk.
Gotham returns to Fox on September 21, 2015.
