With IFA 2015 just around the corner, Asus has confirmed that it will hold an event at the big consumer electronics and home appliances tech trade show in Berlin. Already, the company is whetting its customers' appetites with a red-hot invite and a countdown to unveil its new products teased in an accompanying video.
Asus will be holding a press conference and livestream at IFA 2015 on Sept. 2 at 1 p.m. CEST. The video the company released on its Facebook page also reveals what looks to be a desktop computer, a smartphone, as well as a smartwatch - perhaps new incarnations of the ZenFone and the long ago promised ZenWatch 2.
The only glimpse we get of the phone in the teaser video is an artsy closeup of one of the buttons, which is most likely the back power button based on the design of Asus' previous release, the ZenFone 2.
The video also shows some blurred out images of what looks like a smartwatch. Although the ZenWatch 2 has already been revealed many months ago, the company keeps pushing back the release date for the gadget. Maybe its appearance in the teaser video is an indication that the company is finally ready to announce a date to make the ZenWatch 2 available?
The new Asus smartwatch is anticipated to have an upgraded design from the current ZenWatch, as well as four days of battery life between full charges.
Asus promises to unveil "a diverse range of exciting innovations!" at IFA 2015 on its online invitation to the press event at the Bolle Meierei in Germany.
The company will also have a sales and Media lounge set up at Berliner Freiheit 2, 10785 in IFA 2015 from Sept. 3 through 8, at 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. on weekdays. The show will be open at 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday and at 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday.
