In case you hadn't heard, the trailer for Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection has dropped. But what's even better than the trailer featuring every PS fan's modern-day swashbuckler/treasure hunter? Some all-new player modes.
The games in the collection, marketed as "upgraded" versions for PS4, were originally released for play on PS3 consoles. According to a press release issued by PlayStation, changes and new features include a series of player modes and settings: an "Explorer Mode" (to reduce the difficulty level for combat), "Speed Run Mode" (a tracker that can be used to compare and contrast gamplay time with other players), and "Brutal Difficulty Mode" (an additional, topmost level of difficulty).
None of these modes were previously available in past iterations of the Nathan Drake games.
New trophies and a screenshot photo tool will also be part of the new features lineup. Additionally, you can play in over 56 character skins (as PlayStation's blog post suggests, Doughnut Drake, anyone?).
Created by script writer and video game director Amy Hennig, there are four Nathan Drake games in the franchise to date: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. The first title was released in 2007.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection will be available on October 9; you can preorder it now.
