N.W.A.'s 'Straight Outta Compton' Gets Recreated As A 'GTA V' Music Video

If you haven't gotten around to seeing Straight Outta Compton, the new N.W.A. biopic that topped the box office this weekend with rave reviews in tow, then this might get you to your nearest multiplex: a YouTube user named Animal Robot made a music video recreation of the hip-hop group's classic hit "Straight Outta Compton" in Grand Theft Auto V.

Titled Straight Outta Compton | GTAV Redux, the music video features avatars of N.W.A. members Ice Cube, Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, Arabian Prince, DJ Yella, and MC Ren partaking in your typical GTA fare: fishtailing cars, running from the LAPD on foot and via high-speed motorcycle chases, and heisting jetplanes, all to the beats of their seminal, titular hit about street life in one of Los Angeles County's most notorious cities.

Thematically, both the GTA V remake and the original music video for "Straight Outta Compton" are, well, similar: both present a version of Compton where street violence and a police presence are constant -- not to mention a lof of running from the PoPo. And while although GTA V takes place in San Andreas -- and not Compton, where the members of N.W.A. originally hailed from -- the smoggy atmosphere, palm trees, and urban setting make the VR version and real version of the respective music videos look startlingly alike.

Check out the hip-hop/GTA V remake, as well as the original music video for "Straight Outta Compton" below. (Warning: the lyrics are NSFW.)
