The 32GB model of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is available for just $550 on eBay.
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona on March 1 this year. Both the handsets have top-end specs that have appealed to many smartphone enthusiasts.
"With a reimagined design, robust partner network and novel services, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge offer users the ultimate experience in smartphone options," said JK Shin, the CEO and Head of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics, during the launch of the handsets.
Both the handsets have premium price tags but the launch of the Galaxy S6 Edge+ on Aug. 13 has resulted in a price drop for the Galaxy S6 Edge, at least on eBay for now.
AT&T is selling the 32GB version of the Galaxy S6 Edge for $719.99 while T-Mobile customers will have to pay $679.99 for the handset.
But customers who want to buy a brand new Galaxy S6 Edge can take advantage of the limited-time offer from eBay, which is selling the phone for $549.99, offering massive savings in comparison to other retailers. The phone currently available comes in all four colors: black, white, green and gold.
The Galaxy S6 Edge from eBay is compatible with GSM networks, including T-Mobile, AT&T, Red Pocket Mobile, Ultra Mobile, Net 10 Wireless, H2O Wireless, Metro PCS and Tracfone. However, it is not compatible with Verizon Wireless, Boost Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellula and other non-GSM networks.
The new Galaxy S6 Edge+ will be available from all major carriers in the U.S. beginning Aug. 21. It is normal for the price of an old handset to drop following the launch of a successor, so it should not come as a surprise that the price of Galaxy S6 Edge has been reduced.
The Galaxy S6 Edge features top-notch specs that can compete with many other high-end smartphones available on the market, and a price reduction may lure many buyers to purchase the handset.
