Destiny's The Taken King expansion is bringing a whole list of tweaks, improvements, updates and brand new content for players to enjoy when it releases on Sept. 15. While details have been trickling in, there is still plenty about the game's third expansion that we don't yet know about.
As with the game's House of Wolves expansion, Bungie will be taking to Twitch starting for an in-depth look at The Taken King.
The first livestream will begin Aug. 19 at 11 a.m. PT and will focus on what's new in year two of Destiny.
"How will your own personal highlights from the first year of Destiny translate to the second?" Bungie writes in its weekly update post. "What will your Guardian's lifestyle be like in the new and improved Tower? How will your Guardian become a more powerful snowflake over the course of your next journey? Is it true that Character Level and Light will rise in exciting new ways? All will be revealed and explained. Pro-Tip: Don't dismantle anything until the full developer briefing."
Up next will be a look at a new Strike coming in The Taken King aboard the formidable Dreadnaught, a brand new area for players to explore. The "Strike the Dreadnaught" stream will begin on Aug. 26 at 11 a.m. PT.
"What's it like to infiltrate the Dreadnaught?" Bungie writes. "What surprises do the Taken have for us in combat? How are boss battles different in The Taken King? Join us for a new Strike against a rival Cabal invasion force. See the new Guardian sub-classes in action. Witness the action that will begin Year Two."
For the third and final stream, Bungie will take players to the "Court of Oryx" for a look at the game's new public events. This livestram will start on Sept. 2 at 11 a.m. PT.
"What mysteries lie in wait within the cavernous hull of the Dreadnaught? " Bungie asks. "How can Guardians plunder the treasures secreted away in its hideous labyrinth? Come along with us on a Patrol of the newest destination in your Director. Learn how Guardians can instigate Public Events. Behold the challenges and the rewards that await you on board the capital ship commanded by Oryx."
Plenty of new features and content were revealed during Bungie's House of Wolves livestream, so expect plenty of newly announced details to come out of the three livestreams. The fact that there are three streaming sessions also gives you an idea of how much is changing in The Taken King as compared to the game's previous expansion. You can read about some of those changes here.
