John Constantine Only Appearing In 'Arrow' To Revive A Certain Character But May Never Show Up Again

John Constantine is coming to Arrow, according to the latest reports, but the big question is, why would he? What could be the reason for Constantine to make an appearance on a show that has nothing to do with horror.

From what we've come to understand, Constantine will appear in Arrow season 4, episode 5, titled, "Haunted." Apparently, the team needed to find a way to revive Sara Lance. Since she had been dead for a long time, the Lazarus Pit wouldn't work to bring her back, so something or someone else would be required.

John Constantine will be this person. Arrow executive producer Wendy Mericle stated that Constantine will revive Sara Lance in order for her to become the White Canary and also one of the main characters in Legends of Tomorrow.

"It was born more out of the storyline for Sara Lance. We needed someone to come in and help bring her back. He felt like the most exciting possibility and we're just thrilled to get him. He brings such a different element to the show," said Mericle.

Sadly, it appears this is just a one-off thing. Actor Matt Ryan may, for the last time, play the role of Constantine as there are no plans to make him a regular or a returning character to the show.

We're not sure if Matt Ryan's character impresses the CW viewers enough to force the Arrow team to bring him on again, along with potentially reviving the show.

Then again, we doubt this would happen because the CW is in no need of a standalone Constantine TV series. We say this because it would be too similar to Supernatural, so in all seriousness, John Constantine is dead and may never return for a very long time in the TV space.

Nevertheless, the boys at Warner Bros. have been plotting to bring to the big screen a movie based on Justice League: Dark Universe. Such a film would likely include John Constantine among others.
