We all have been patiently waiting for the December debut of J.J. Abrams' The Force Awakens, but fans now have another glimpse of what's to come because Lucasfilms released a new international TV spot for the highly anticipated film.
The promo for Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens premiered on South Korean television, and although it is only a few short seconds, it does include new footage worth checking out.
The promo opens with a shot of The First Order's military parade, the new army that's in town after the Empire was destroyed. With Stormtroopers as foot soldiers, this scene gives us some new footage of the evil army.
The rest of the TV spot features a series of snapshots from a few different action-packed scenes.
The film is set 30 years after the Return of the Jedi, and includes new heroes and villains along with some popular characters.
The film stars Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, and Andy Serkis as a new villain Supreme Leader Snoke. Other cast include Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydeow, Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie.
Analysts have predicted the film could make more than $2 billion worldwide in the box office when Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens is released Dec. 18.
The film will be followed by Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One, Star Wars: Episode VIII, set to be released May 26, 2017, and the Han Solo anthology movie that debuts May 25, 2018.
