New Mod Turns 'Skyrim' Into A Living Cartoon

Bethesda's 2011 RPG The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has received a lot of user-created mods, but none are as unique as this new mod that turns the world of Skyrim into a Pixar film.

Modder UniqueUses created the mod, called "Toon Skyrim," and the results are rather impressive.

UniqueUses described the process of creating the mod on Reddit:

"I'm basically making my own potato texture mod, with an enb and weather that goes with it to help hide that ugly level of detail. I like the potato texture style, but I think a lot of fixing up needs to be done for it to be playable. So I'm going to attempt to make things like signs and faces readable but still fit the potato style. For example, certain puzzles need to be seen, so I'm going to edit those."

A "potato texture" is a term denoting a simple graphics style that's often used to get high-end games running on lower-end PCs. ENB is an open source visual mod.

Unfortunately, this mod isn't available yet, but UniqueUses hopes to release it to Nexus Mods soon.

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is an open world RPG game where the player takes on the role of the Dovahkiin, the one destined to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, the dragon fated to destroy the world. It takes place in a province called Skyrim.

Skyrim was a hit with critics and gamers alike, with many losing months of their lives to exploring the wide open world the game offered with its 100+ hours of gameplay. Skyrim received over 300 awards from gaming sites and publications and still remains a favorite among gamers.
