Come May 27, the LG G3 will finally become official. We already know Verizon is getting it and a new leaked image indicates it will also be offered by Sprint.
When LG launched the LG 2 last year in the U.S., the company was able secure a simultaneous launch on all four major carriers in the U.S., instead of letting a carrier have an exclusive on the device. This was part of the reason the LG G2 has been a huge hit for the company and it's about to repeat that move with its upcoming LG G3.
The company at a press event on May 27 will announce the LG G3 and its specs aren't going to be too much of a surprise, as a bunch of leaked internal LG slides made their way online and confirmed all of the handset's specs. The tipster, evleaks, has posted an image of Sprint's LG G3, which has a titanium rear case and unlike the Verizon LG G3 we just showed you, Sprint hasn't plastered its logo anywhere on the smartphone, whereas Verizon has put its logo on the front and back.
The LG G3 will be the first smartphone in the U.S. to boast a very sharp 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad-HD display that will have a pixel density of 538 pixels per inch. Besides its very high-resolution display, another major feature is its 13-megapixel rear camera will be the first to have a built-in laser autofocus. The smartphone's processor and RAM will ensure the handset will run fast and be able to do more processor-intensive tasks simultaneously without slowing down to a crawl. Users will be happy to know the smartphone uses a large 3000 mAh removable battery.
There's no word on when we can expect Sprint, Verizon and presumably AT&T and T-Mobile to begin selling the G3. We'll likely find out those details and more during LG's press event on May 27. Stay tuned.
