Verizon confirms LG G3 ahead of LG's May 27 announcement

The LG G3 will be making its way to Verizon, now that the carrier has placed information about the device on a testing page.

LG hasn't even tried to keep its upcoming G3 smartphone a well-kept secret. We just reported that the company confirmed the handset through a series of leaked slides, which listed all the hardware specs of its next-generation flagship smartphone. Now Verizon has all but confirmed that the G3 will be making its way to its 4G LTE network in the near future.

DroidLife is reporting that Verizon has listed the LG G3 on its 'testman' page, which it uses to test items that will soon be posted to its main site. The images shows off the white LG G3, which has the carrier's name plastered on its front and back and a link to sign up to receive "information such as pre-order availability, device specifications and the upcoming release date."

While it doesn't give any details on the LG G3's specs, we've already become very familiar with them thanks to LG. The smartphone will become the first smartphone to ship in the U.S. with a 5.5-inch quad-HD display that will have a very high resolution of 2560 x 1440 and a pixel density of 538 pixels per inch(ppi). This dwarfs the 4-inch iPhone 5s' Retina display, which has a resolution of 1136 x 640 and 326 pixels per inch and Samsung's Galaxy S5, which ships with a 5.1-inch 1920 x 1080 display and 432 pixels per inch.

The LG G3 will also include 3GB of RAM and a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and run the latest version of Android 4.4 KitKat. Its camera capabilities consist of a 13-megapixel rear camera and will be the first smartphone to ship with laser autofocus. It's also packing a 2.1-megapixel front facing camera that will help you take selfies by clenching your fist. The G3 will retain the rear button setup LG has been using on many of its recent smartphones.

LG will make the G3 official at a press event it has scheduled for May 27 and we'll be bringing you all the latest news.
