Apparently, Josh Trank is taking those Fantastic Four reviews to heart.
In a tweet sent out on Aug. 7, Trank more or less lambasted 20th Century Fox for the cut it used. The now-deleted tweet read, "A year ago I had a fantastic version of this. And it would've received great reviews. You'll probably never see it. That's reality though."
To be fair to Trank, it's not as if the young director doesn't have chops – if anything, his first feature, the found-footage, dark indie superhero-themed Chronicle was critically lauded for its original take on the genre.
Regardless of whose fault it is, it's not going to stop the critical dismissal of the franchise reboot, which has had a pretty dismal history to begin with. Roger Corman, anyone?
