Although Any.do, the to-do list app for mobile, has been providing us a quick and simple way to manage our tasks from mobile for 10 years now, but there has always been something missing. It doesn't have its own web app.
After a decade of keeping back, Any.do has finally released a full-blown web application for users who would like to access their tasks from any web browser, allowing them to conduct mass task management more easily. Any.do already has an extension for Chrome, but previously did not offer options for users who prefer to use Firefox, Internet Explorer or other web browsers.
"Used by millions, Any.do is an award winning task list app. Winner of apple's 2012 'intuitive touch,' and Android best app 2012, for its clean & simple to use design and innovative features. With the Any.do web-app you can easily sync your tasks from your mobile to your home computer," writes the Any.do team on its website.
The web app maintains the clean and simple interface and functionalities of its older mobile counterpart. It shows to-do lists for "Today," "Tomorrow," "Upcoming" and "Someday" for the time-based view. If users click the folder icon on the upper left, Any.do switches over to their category-based lists, with default lists for "Personal" and "Work." They can also add custom categories for this view.
To add a task, simply click the plus sign below the list title and enter the requested details. As with the mobile app, users can tell the web app to remind them about their task or they can turn reminders off.
Users can also toggle between Planning Mode and Focus Mode by clicking the nine-dot and three-line icons on the upper right of the screen. In Planning Mode, they will be able to take a quick glance at all the tasks they have set out for themselves. Users will be able to move tasks around between lists and schedules. If they want to look at only the tasks that they should be working in for the present, they should switch to Focus Mode and Any.do will show what needs to be done right now. Once a task is completed, users should click the big blue check box next to the task to cross it off.
Any.do has been named a user's favorite in a LifeHacker survey, which shows that Any.do is the to-do list app of choice for 41.87% of users, followed by Wunderlist (30.63%) and Todoist (10.63%).
However, as promising as the web app looks like, there is still one thing many users are clamoring for. Any.do still doesn't provide full support for recurring tasks, a feature which many of its 10 million users have been asking for in the last 10 years.
