Online gaming has changed plenty in the five years that PlayStation Plus has been around, and the online subscription service is growing and changing along with it.
Now millions enjoy PS Plus on their PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita console, with the service having given out more than 350 games since its inception. But if you happen to be one of the PlayStation diehards who have been with the service since day one, you might want to keep an eye on your email.
In an official blog post, Sony said a special gift will be coming to PS Plus subscribers who have been with the service since the very beginning.
"To celebrate those of you that have been with us from the very beginning, a limited edition gift will be arriving in the mail for those of you that have been part of the journey since the very start," PS Store and PS Plus Manager Chris Howe wrote in the post. "Think you may be one of them? Then keep a close eye on your emails as we'll be getting in touch today."
Howe, however, didn't say what exactly that gift will be. Blizzard rewarded 10-year World of Warcraft players with a limited edition statue that arrived by mail. Since the blog post specifically says "arriving in the mail" it seems safe to assume Sony is sending out a physical object of some kind.
We will just have to wait and see whether it's a "thank you" card or a collectible statue — but in the meantime, PS Plus members can go ahead and download the service's free games for August.
