NBA fans, your gaming wishes are coming true.
A new NBA 2K16 player mode is about to hit your gaming platforms, and what's even more exciting are the new features being introduced to ensure an authentic NBA-style basketball gaming experience.
2K Pro-Am mode is an addition to the MyPlayer mode that NBA gamers are familiar with. The new mode will allow players to compete online in 5-on-5 matches that can support up to 40 gamers playing simultaneously alongside each other in a massive gym.
The new features of the 2K Pro-Am mode include the following:
- Instant Matchmaking: game starts immediately meaning no more waiting time
- Full-size basketball court
- NBA-style basketball complete with timeouts and fouls
- Leaderboards for daily, weekly and monthly periods
- Track individual and team statistics
- Create and customize your own team logo and jersey (meaning you can recreate your favorite NBA teams or you can create a whole new team from your imagination)
- Create a basketball arena from scratch
- Added options for varied dunks that include putback, two-hand, flashy, off-hand and dominant dunks
- Compete with other MyPlay players
The new features of 2K16 seem to indicate that the franchise is moving forward and actively making improvements to join the ranks of the quickly growing e-sports world. The obvious business and financial gain for the franchise and game developers aside, the endless possibilities for player creativity have galvanized interest in basketball-related games.
The 2K16 release date for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 is September 29. Pre-order starts on September 25.
NBA 2K16 will feature one of three NBA stars, namely Stephen Curry, James Harden or Anthony Davis on its cover.
