A leaked document that give details of upcoming Samsung devices reveals the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will ship with a 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440 QHD display.
Samsung took a huge gamble when it released the first phablet with its 5.3-inch Galaxy Note in 2011. After it was announced many people in the tech community claimed the giant smartphone would be dead on arrival. Android smartphones, at that time, were already on the large size with 4-inch and bigger screens. Samsung proved critics wrong when it announced the phablet was a commercial success and had sold over 1 million Galaxy Note smartphones in two months.
The company followed up the original Note with the Galaxy Note 2 in 2012. The phablet saw an increase in screen size from 5.3-inches on the Galaxy Note to 5.5-inches for the Galaxy Note 2. The Galaxy Note 2 was a huge success for Samsung and as other companies released their own phablets, Samsung remained king and sold 5 million Note 2 handsets in its first two months.
In September 2013, Samsung introduced the 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 3 and continued its reign of phablet king. It announced it sold 5 million units in the first month and 10 million in by the second month. The company is expected to announce the Galaxy Note 4 at IFA in Berlin in September and a new report claims the device will have a 5.7-inch 2560 x 1440 Quad HD display.
According to GSM Arena, one of its sources provided the site with a document detailing Samsung's upcoming smartphones and tablets. The table lists the codename for the Galaxy Note 4 as Muscat and its model number is N910. The table also shows the screen size listed at 5.7-inches with a QHD resolution (2560 x 1440) and a pixel density of 515 pixels per inch.
Current rumors claim the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will feature a waterproof and dust-resistant case just like the flagship Galaxy S5 and upcoming Galaxy S5 Prime, which is also shown in the table as having a 2560 x 1440 QHD display.
It's best to take this report with a grain of salt for now, but it certainly seems plausible the Galaxy Note will feature a QHD display when announced in September. We'll keep you posted on any new information.
