'Space Jam 2' With LeBron James Could Be A Possibility: Do We Need It?

Rumors of a possible Space Jam 2 film are circling the web once more. Fans are excited, but do we really need a Space Jam 2? We don't see the reasoning behind any plans to bring such a film to the box office.

According to rumors, LeBron James could be the lead man in this one along with the cartoon characters we've come to love over the years. The first one had Michael Jordan at the forefront back in the 1990s.

In all honesty, we didn't like the first Space Jam. Michael Jordan was awful along with the other human cast. It would have been best if it were just an animated movie or one with a more capable human cast.

LeBron James is no big actor himself, so what are we going to get from him here? Like Jordan, doesn't he have bad facial expressions? He'll perform well on the court, no doubt, but outside of that, it would likely be a disaster.

At the end of the day, though, while Space Jam was not a good movie, we can see why Warner Bros. could be thinking about bringing forth a second one with LeBron James in the lead.

The first movie had an estimated budget of $80 million and managed to make $230 million at the box office. That's a lot of money, and we're suspecting that Warner Bros. would be hoping to make even more with a Space Jam 2, should the studio give it the green light.

However, we don't see a Space Jam 2 with LeBron James being successful at the box office. The Looney Tunes characters are not as popular as they were back in the 90s and early 2000s. These characters are relics without swag, and as such, will fail to grab the attention of children.

Now, if Warner Bros. were to use different and popular cartoon characters, then things might turn out differently.
