'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Actress Chloe Bennet Gets A Comics-Inspired Haircut

We got hints of things to come in Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. at San Diego Comic-Con, and now, more teasers are arriving every day, particularly from the cast of the series.

Chloe Bennet, who portrays Skye on the series – whom we also know as Daisy Johnson, aka the Inhuman Quake – just posted an Instagram video that clues us in on her character's new role as she learns how to use her powers.

It also seems that Bennet is getting a haircut. Why is this important? Because in Marvel Comics, Quake sports short hair, particularly in those comic book stories involved with Marvel's "Secret Warriors" — which was previously hinted at as part of the main storyline of season three of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. In those stories, Quake takes a leadership role with a new group of S.H.I.E.L.D. recruits to combat Hydra and other threats.

Actor Clark Gregg, who portrays Phil Coulson on the series, recently confirmed the "Secret Warriors" connection with the new season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"I'm familiar with 'Secret Warriors' in the comics, but as iterated on our show and in the TV and cinematic world, it's a different thing," said Gregg to Comic Book Resources. "It's new and involves some people — we're doing a version of it on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., so that means that we're going to try to gather people like Skye on a very, very top-secret team."

Bennett's new look is in line with Quake's appearance in the comics — which, interestingly enough, have also adjusted their stories to better fit with the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. television show.

So no more long hair for Bennet. Say goodbye to Skye and hello to Quake, aka Daisy Johnson.

The new season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres on ABC on September 29.
