If you've ever played The Last of Us, then you know that the soundtrack really sets the score for all the dramatic zombie attacks and other scares. And now, fans of the popular video game can get their hands on the soundtrack, which will be released as a 4xLP vinyl box set.
The Last of Us 4xLP box set features the original music by Oscar-winner Gustavo Santaolalla, along with the soundtrack to the stand-alone DLC story Left Behind. The box set includes original artwork by Olly Moss and Jay Shaw that is packaged in a heavy-duty Slip case — making it a great purchase, just going by the look of the creative cover art.
While the artwork definitely stands out, the music speaks for itself. The soundtrack was ranked as the No. 2 Best Video Game soundtrack of all time by FACT Magazine.
Developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, the popular post-apocalyptic drama was first released for the PS3 in 2013, followed by a remastered version for the PS4 that was released a year later. In this third-person survival horror game, players take on the role of Joel, a man who has the job of bringing Ellie – a girl who has been infected, yet seems to be immune – across the U.S. while fighting against zombies.
Mondo announced that The Last of Us soundtrack vinyl box set will hit shelves on Wednesday, July 22 for a retail price of $75.
