'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice': Bryan Cranston Was Never Approached To Play Lex Luthor

There was a time when many fans thought Bryan Cranston would be cast as Lex Luthor in the 2016 movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. However, that did not happen.

Well, according to Cranston himself, he was not approached by Warner Bros. Entertainment at all about the Lex Luthor role. This is very interesting because rumors from several sources have claimed otherwise, but it appears they were all wrong.

"Not one conversation, it was all fan-driven," he told MTV. "They're thinking, 'Who could play Lex Luthor? Who's bald who could be menacing? Oh, Walter White, we can get that guy!' So, it's like, that's not very inspiring casting..."

It would have been great to have Cranston as Lex Luthor due to how he played his role in Breaking Bad. As it turned out, Zack Snyder was looking for a younger Luthor who would fit more into today's world.

The actor who got the job is none other than Jesse Eisenberg. However, his casting did not sit well with fans, and to this day many are still not convinced he's capable of doing a good job as Lex Luthor.

Eisenberg has proven himself as an actor in several films, but his fast-talking acting may turn out to be an issue here. Cranston's acting is more smooth, plus he looks the part when his head is bald, more so than Jesse Eisenberg.

At the end of the day, it all boils down to whether or not Eisenberg is a good fit for the role. If he is, then fans will have to swallow their words and give the actor the recognition he deserves.

Cranston is currently promoting his new series SuperMansion. This series is a Crackle exclusive, and it is brought to us by the creators of Robot Chicken. It is evident from the trailer below and also due to the adult content.

As for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the film will hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
