Sting Expected To Return To Action At 'SummerSlam'

Sound the crows. The vigilante is about to come back.

Sting is expected to return to WWE television in the coming weeks to hype up his return to the ring at next month's SummerSlam, live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on August 23. The question now is, who will his opponent be?

With rumored reports about the Undertaker returning to the WWE at the Battleground pay-per-view this Sunday (July 19), a natural connection would be to link Sting and Undertaker for what would be a huge match at SummerSlam. In fact, one report already claims a SummerSlam match between the two wrestling icons is already scheduled.

Whether that happens remains to be seen, but wrestling fans have long clamored for a dream bout between the Phenom and the Vigilante. However, with the Undertaker being in the WWE for the past 25 years and Sting the former poster boy for WCW, the two icons never crossed paths.

Could now be the right time? It would make sense, considering Undertaker hasn't been seen since his Wrestlemania 31 victory over Bray Wyatt and Sting hasn't been around since the Monday Night Raw a day after losing to Triple H at the same flagship pay-per-view.

The only storyline that could potentially throw this collision course off is if the WWE wants the Undertaker to return and immediately pursue a rematch with Brock Lesnar. Other than that, we could finally wind up seeing a Sting vs. Undertaker match.

Which icon would come out on top?
