Lady Gaga has arrived at the hotel, and we finally get a glimpse of Mother Monster herself, or at least her immaculately manicured hands, checking in.
FX has unveiled the first teaser for "American Horror Story: Hotel," and while it's a pithy 10-second piece that only features Lady Gaga's hand half the entire time, it's sure to get fans all riled up for the upcoming fifth season of FX's horror anthology.
FX shared the teaser over Twitter, saying Lady Gaga is "ready to ring in a whole new horror this October." The Bad Romance singer also took to the microblogging platform to share the teaser with her little monsters.
The upcoming season of American Horror Story is set to feature an ensemble cast rather than center around the life story of a single character. At Comic-Con on Sunday, the show's creator Ryan Murphy promised that fans of the horror TV series will see more of the characters from previous seasons checking in at the hotel.
Aside from Lady Gaga, Angela Bassett, Matt Bomer, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Kathy Bates are joining the "American Horror Story: Hotel" cast to be "bad boys and girls this time," Murphy said. Lady Gaga, of course, will also be one of the baddies, and judging from the teaser FX just rolled out, her character is surely one of those baddies you don't mess with.
"It was one of the weirdest things of my career ever," Murphy says, recalling how Lady Gaga contacted him first to ask if she could join the cast. "Horror Story has a lot of fans and I get calls from some people... how it happened with Gaga is she wrote and said, 'I love the show, would you consider putting me on it?' And I wrote back, 'Yes, CAPS CAPS...'"
Just don't look out for any singing or dancing, though. This is strictly a horror-centric affair, and Lady Gaga will not be breaking out into song and dance anytime during the entire series. She will, however, likely come out dressed in her larger-than-life ensembles, as Murphy notes her role will have something to do with fashion.
"You want Lady Gaga to look a certain way," he says. "The designers have been coming out of the woodwork with looks for her."
