After a nine year rest, the heroes are ready to be reborn and save the world once again. Although the NBC show was canceled after only four seasons on the air, series creator Tim Kring announced at Comic-Con on Sunday that Heroes Reborn will be making a comeback.
The trailer was unveiled at the session and some Hero vets and newcomers were present for the announcement. Greg Grunberg, Jack Coleman, Jimmy Jean-Louis and Masi Oka will be some of the familiar faces who will be returning to the Reborn series. They will be joined by new cast mates, Zachary Levi, Robbie Kay, Ryan Guzman and Gatlin Green.
Described during Comic-Con as "Heroes on steroids," the series will pick up five years after the first series ended.
The heroes, or EVO's as they were called in the trailer, are in hiding to avoid persecution as well as being hunted by super-human hunters such as the gun-toting villain who will be played by Chuck star, Levi.
With much excitement, Kring spoke to the crowd at Comic-Con for the big announcement.
"For those people who stuck with it and watched every single episode, you have my undying gratitude," Kring said. "For those of you along the way who maybe grew a little tired because you perceived that perhaps the show grew a little tired, I really only have one thing to say about that."
The cast and crew had "a long rest, a good night's sleep," and they're "ready to save the world again."
And if the crowd of Comic-Con wasn't pumped up enough about Heroes Reborn, the final shots of series favorite, Hiro, played by Masi Oka, weilding two swords to save Mohinder (Yes, he's back too!) from a Hydra-like body-duplicating foe, sent them over the edge.
Heroes Reborn will make its comeback on NBC on Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. Are you ready to save the world one again?
