There is no escaping the superhero hysteria that has swept across Hollywood. While there is no shortage of comic book heroes starring in films and TV series, some other heroes are about to star in their very own new graphic novel series.
Publisher Titan Comics will release a new comic book series based off the recently revived NBC series Heroes.
Titan's publishing director Chris Teather told the Hollywood Reporter the comics are "created in close collaboration with the team behind the NBC show." Heroes Reborn supervising producer Seamus Kevin Fahey will co-write the series, along with Zach Craley. The artist Rubine will provide the art work.
The storyline in the Heroes comics will include the origin of one of the show's new characters in the reboot. No further details are currently known.
As if there weren't enough superhero movies and TV series already, fans of Heroes were probably thrilled to learn the series will be coming back to NBC. With no official fall premiere date yet, we do know that the revival is set to air on Thursdays nights at 8 p.m.
Cristine Rose, who played Angela Petrelli in the series, will reprise her role in Heroes Reborn, as will some other original cast members that includes Sendhil Ramamurthy as Mohinder, Greg Grunberg as Matt Parkman, Jimmy Jean-Louis as the Haitian, Masi Oka as Hiro Nakamura and Jack Coleman as Noah "HRG" Bennet.
The new comic book series is said to be "bonus" episodes to the TV revival.
However, this is not the first time Heroes characters were featured in comics. DC Entertainment released a series of graphic novels that featured a collection webcomics from the original series.
The Heroes Reborn comics will launch digitally and in stores this October.
