What's better than all of director Paul Feig's new Ghostbusters' teaser trailers combined? Finding out the name of the villain in the beloved Harold Ramis remake. It has been confirmed that Sony has signed Inside Amy Schumer writer Neil Casey to play a villain named Rowan in the all-star female-helmed reboot.
While Casey might not be the most familiar name to grace the cast list, it's more than likely you've watched his (impressive) work: aside from Inside Amy Schumer, his writing gigs include Saturday Night Live from 2012 to 2013, as well as current stuff on The Kroll Show. He has been nominated for two Emmy Awards - for Schumer and SNL, respectively - and three Writers Guild Awards for the same shows.
The majority of Casey's acting creds are either for bit parts, short films, or stints on fan favorites such as Broad City, Veep, The League and The Whitest Kids U'Know, as well as a slew of appearances in comedy troupe Upright Citizens' Brigade comedy specials.
Casey is the fourth SNL alumn to join Feig's main line-up, along with Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. (While Melissa McCarthy was never on the variety show, she has guest-hosted in the past.)
Besides his name, little else is known about Casey's character, but with Paul Feig's penchant for dropping teasers - especially fan favorites - we'll be sure to pick up a few biographical tidbits in the coming months.
