The Latest 'Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward' Patch Brings A New Raid

A new patch for the Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward expansion pack was released Tuesday. In it, players can now access a whole bunch of new raids inside the new raid dungeon Alexander.

A new teaser trailer for Patch 3.01 shows Alexander is steamy and industrial, with plenty of moving parts and areas to explore, high and low. The end of the video also shows off some armor and weapons available with the patch.

The first raid for Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward will begin on July 14 at a normal difficulty at first, and then a savage difficulty will become available two weeks later.

Since Square Enix released Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward on June 23, it hasn't exactly been a smooth launch. The game developer recently suspended sales of the expansion pack for Mac after many players experienced issues with the game's performance on that platform. Square Enix even offered players refunds for the Mac version of the game.
