Amazon Prime started offering its members a really sweet, interesting and incredibly stealthy little treat. It will be giving members great discounts on games without even telling them they're getting a huge deal.
Nobody is complaining about the sweet savings, and a lot of the games Amazon Prime members will be getting at a percentage off are more than just throw-away bin titles. Batman: Arkham Knight, Splatoon, Halo 5, Black Ops III, and Lego Jurassic World are just some of the new and popular titles that members will be getting huge price reductions on.
If you're still on the fence about forking over the $99 for a Prime membership, the company is hoping that these discounts, which rolled out with hardly any announcement or fanfare, will be enough to finally win you over to the Amazon Prime side.
In addition to free Kindle books, free two-day shipping and streaming videos and music, Prime members will also get to play new and popular games at a discount not advertised anywhere else.
The one and only downside to this quiet promotion is that members will have to do a bit of digging to figure out which deals they are eligible for. Even the official list of benefits for Prime members does not indicate the game discounts.
Instead, members will have to keep an eye out for a little note on the product page, which says: "Save with Prime." They will then have to add the item to their shopping cart and proceed to checkout to see how much of a deal they will actually get.
Certainly a strange, stealthy way to go about such an exciting promotion to win over gamers, but no one seems to be complaining.
