'Batman: Arkham Knight' Negative Reviews Force Warner To Pull Game Off Steam

After 8,000 bad reviews on Steam and countless bugs that plague the PC port for Batman: Arkham Knight, Warner Bros. is owning up to the embarrassment. It has voluntarily suspended sales of the game until all the issues are addressed. It even provided a direct link to Steam's refund page for all the disgruntled gamers who downloaded the much-anticipated game, which was dead on arrival.

Batman: Arkham Knight was one of the company's most anticipated games ever, following hundreds of glowing reviews on the console versions of the game.

The PC version, however, was practically unplayable due to performance issues and a host of other glitches that had buyers complaining from the moment it became available.

In an official statement on Steam, Warner Bros. apologized to all customers experiencing the issues with Batman: Arkham Knight for PC. The publisher says it is suspending all game sales for the PC version until it has developed fixes for all problems and the game has gone through thorough quality assurance testing.

"We greatly value our customers and know that while there are a significant amount of players who are enjoying the game on PC, we want to do whatever we can to make the experience better for PC players overall," Warner Bros. says. "The Batman: Arkham fans have continually supported the franchise to its current height of success, and we want to thank you for your patience as we work to deliver an updated version of Batman: Arkham Knight on PC so you can all enjoy the final chapter of the Batman: Arkham series as it was meant to be played."

Few details have been released as to why so many flaws were able to slip past Warner Bros.' quality control. According to reports, Rocksteady, which handled the Xbox and PlayStation versions of the game, was not involved in porting it to PC.

Warner Bros. also did not give a definite timeframe as to when all the issues will be addressed, but it gave customers the option of helping to track down all the bugs by submitting reports to Warner Bros. or Steam, or simply request a refund online or from the retailer where they bought the game.
