'Tales from the Borderlands' screenshots and trailer released: What to expect

Telltale Games has released the first screenshots of its newest title "Tales from the Borderlands," a game that is based on Gearbox's hit franchise, Borderlands. The images gave a glimpse of what Telltales is working on and what gamers should expect when they first get their hands on the title later this year.

The images were posted on the official PlayStation blog, and it shows a game that is set after the events of Borderlands 2. The game's story is told from the perspective of two different characters, Rhys and Fiona. We understand that the game will be told through flashbacks, which means players will have the ability to play through different versions of a single event when using both characters.

"Gearbox's world is huge. The main Borderlands games and the DLC have only scratched the surface; they've built a world that rivals Star Wars in its richness. That sounds like crazy hyperbole, but the details, the characters, and the history are all there. You just haven't seen it all yet," according to the official PlayStation blog.

Both Rhys and Fiona will travel across Pandora in hopes to find their own ambitions, along with coming face-to-face with well-known characters from within the franchise. We know for a fact that Zero the assassin will feature in the game, but we're not certain which other popular character will show their faces as the game pushes on.

Since Tales from the Borderlands story will be told in episodic fashion, gamers should expect similar mechanics to The Walking Dead, and The Wolf Among Us. Furthermore, look attained from the game will be usable in both Borderlands, and Borderlands 2. This is a great addition, and should give players an incentive to give the game a try.

Each episode in the season will cost gamers $4.99. However, gamers who purchase the season pass will pay less; so if you're confident in Telltale Games skill to deliver solid episodes throughout the season, then you should get the season pass instead of purchasing each episode one-by-one.

Telltale Games is also working on the upcoming Game of Thrones title.
