New 'Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' DLC: Where The Cat And Wolf Play...

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was a massive game when it first launched — and it's only getting bigger.

Thanks to CD Projekt Red's free DLC plan, Witcher 3 fans are being treated to free quests and various DLC packs once a week. While the quests might not be quite as big as one of the game's main story missions, these side attractions are more than enough to bring gamers back into The Witcher 3's world (assuming they actually managed to finish the absolutely colossal main story).

It's a shame that The Witcher 3's free DLC offerings are coming to an end (this week's quest is Part 13 of 16), but just because it's almost over doesn't mean that CD Projekt Red is skimping on the content. The latest free DLC quest, titled "Where the Cat and Wolf Play..." might not seem all that extraordinary at first, but a few key details hint at what's lying in store for Geralt...

"Explore a forgotten village and discover its terrifying secret. Find out who or what slaughtered its inhabitants and use all your Witcher skills to confront this mysterious force."

Seasoned Witcher veterans will know that slaughtered towns and innocent deaths are nothing new to the franchise — if anything, that sounds like another quest to kill one of the game's many monsters. However, the promotional image above appears to reveal the quest's major twist: the appearance of another Witcher.

Geralt, the game's main character, is a part of the Wolf School of Witchers. The medallion he wears (which doubles as the series' logo) represents his school — and it's easy to see that the medallion on the DLC promo isn't a wolf. Is Geralt about to go head-to-head with another Witcher, or will the two fight side-by-side?

Thankfully, fans won't have to wait long to find out: The Witcher 3's latest DLC quest, "Where the Cat and Wolf Play..." will be available later this week.
