Sprint Rolls Out 'All-In' Plan For $80 A Month With Unlimited Talk, Text, And Data

Sprint is hoping to attract customers who are fed up with "confusing" price plans and all the hidden costs that come with their subscription.

The company is launching an "all-in" plan that allows customers to own a smartphone of their choice and also enjoy a unique package of unlimited talk, text and data. Customers can get all of these for only $80 a month.

The announcement came from the company's chief marketing officer Kevin Crull. According to Crull, the $80 "all-in" monthly plan includes $60 worth of unlimited talk, text, and data and $20 for the smartphone device. Some of the plan's featured devices include the iPhone 6 of Apple and the Galaxy S6 of Samsung.

"The natural evolution of the industry is to advertise both combined: cost of the device and the rate plan, put them together and tell the customer what's the rate all in," said Crull.

The $80 All-in monthly plan replaces the company's previous offer of a $70 monthly unlimited service plan. The new offer will launch on Tuesday along with a new TV ad that will feature David Beckham. The star athlete is said to be a good friend and business partner of Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure.

In the video ad, Beckham is seen going from one carrier store to another while he asks each about their wireless plan with a consistent monthly charge. He gets confused listening to several plan details at the stores of Verizon Wireless, AT&T, and T-Mobile.

However, things are certainly different when he walks into the store of Sprint, where he is offered the "All-in plan." Beckham then says: "I just want something that's unlimited. I want to talk all I want, text all I want, watch movies and listen to my music and get the phone I want. All-in, for one price."

Sprint is still ranked as the 3rd largest wireless carrier in the U.S. and has been struggling to enhance its image by doing a series of network enhancements and by improving the quality of its service.

"We need to get customers to realize a little bit, this isn't the old Sprint—give us a try," said Crull. "If you've had a bad experience in the past with Sprint, give us a try."

The plan includes a one-time activation fee of $36. The promotion is said to expire by Aug. 6.

Claure has also hinted at increasing the price of unlimited data toward the second half of the year and may even opt to cancel the whole offer if it becomes too expensive to handle.
