Google Now remembers where you parked your car. Bad guys can snatch that phone (your car, too?)

After launching standalone Google Drive apps earlier this Update Wednesday, Google rolls out an updated Google Search app, with a variety of new features, most notable of which is one that helps users remember where they parked their car.

Google released Wednesday, April 30, its latest version of Google Search app. Version 3.4 of what Google touts the best traveling companion now has a new Parking Location card, which helps users find the location of their car in case they forget where they parked.

The Parking Location card works by trying to figure out where the user has stepped out of his car. It includes a map showing where the car is parked, the text address of the car's location, the distance of the car from where the user is located, and how long it will take the user to get to his car. In the event that the app gets the car's location wrong, it will also offer alternative locations.

Early users of the Parking Location card seem pleased about the new feature, noting that the app would be of great help for people who easily get lost even in their own backyards. However, many have said that it is not always as accurate as they would have liked.

Andrew Grush of Android Authority set out to test-drive the new feature. He believes that it is a "welcome change and something that will only get better with time."

As per Grush's testing, the Parking Location card could be more accurate, as it only helped him come close to the location where his car was parked. That should be good enough for drivers who parked downtown or in a large mall parking lot, but Grush says "it's not quite good enough to direct you right to your automobile's door."

He also observed that the card takes around 10 to 15 minutes to update his new location, but it is not much of a problem for most users who need the feature since they usually park their cars for several hours.

Google Search 3.4, which is fully equipped with the Parking Location card, is now available on Google Play Store. Users who have no need of the card can disable it if they wish.

Google also released other Search app updates, including a new reminder interface that allows users to scroll through past reminders and an improved and centralized nicknames list that lets users attach labels to their contacts.
