Fans of the Dragon Ball Z: Butoden series were happy to hear that they would be receiving a new fighting game for the Nintendo 3DS this summer. However, it was unclear if the game would eventually make its way to other parts of the world outside of Japan.
Well, fans can now breathe easy because the new game, titled Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden, finally has a couple of Western release dates. Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden will arrive Oct. 16 in Europe, the Middle East and Australasia, and Oct. 20 in North America and South America, Bandai Namco Entertainment announced Tuesday. You can check out some more screenshots of the game over on Bandai Namco Entertainment America's Tumblr.
The 2-D, 1v1 fighting game features more than 20 playable characters and 100 supporting characters. You can check out the full roster of playable characters over at Shonen Gamez.
The release of Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden is just one of several pieces of new content coming from the Dragon Ball universe this summer. The highly-anticipated new anime series Dragon Ball Super premieres July 5 on Fuji TV in Japan, and its new companion manga was already released earlier this month. The new film Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F had its world premiere in April and is supposed to get a U.S. release and an English dub this summer.
With all of this in the pipeline, it's certainly a good time to be a Dragon Ball fan.
