'Call Of Duty: Advanced Warfare' Introduces XP Bonus For Gear Sets And Royalty Weapon Variants

More new goodies are in store for loyal Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare players. Across all platforms, players who equip their characters with full gear sets will earn extra XP, and Xbox One users will be able to get their hands on some brand spankin' new Royalty versions of many weapons soon.

These, and more treats, will be made available beginning June 23.

According to Sledgehammer Games' official blog, the bonus XP that players can earn from wearing full gear sets is as high as 5 percent:

"Seeing players display their creativity and originality in the Virtual Lobby with more than 1,000+ pieces of character gear has been awesome. That said, we've always wanted to implement a system that gives you the incentive to collect a full #AWGearSet and rewards you for collecting the set with a special in-game bonus in the form of XP."

So stock up on those complete gear sets for upping your XP more quickly during online matches to get the bonus.

Sledgehammer Games already previously announced the new Royal Weapon variants on its official site last month, but this batch of Royal Weapons (variants version 2) will feature faster reloading speeds.

The game developer describes the new purple tones weapons this way:

"This second set of Royalty Elite Weapon Variants has the same purple and gun-metal camouflage that matches the Grand Master Prestige gear, and this set of variants features a different stat change from the first set."

Although the developers say the weapons are still optimally balanced so players will not have to worry about a massively unfair power advantage from players weilding Royal Weapons, they certainly will have a better edge over their counterparts equipped with Elite weapons.

Expect these Royal Weapon Variants v2 to land in-game in Supply Drops and Advanced Supply Drops staring June 23.
