8-Bit Cinema 'Jurassic Park' Arrives Just In Time For 'Jurassic World'

Jurassic World is finally here. If you haven't had the time to re-watch the original Jurassic Park before heading to the theater, no need to worry. The folks over at CineFix have reimagined Jurassic Park as an 8-Bit video game, and unlike the movie, this video is only a few minutes long.

It covers the entire film, only in a condensed and much blockier form. John Hammond is looking for notable dinosaur experts to endorse his park, so he flies our heroes out to the island for a private tour. It's all magical for the first couple of minutes. Then the running and the screaming starts.

Trailers for Jurassic World make it seem like the raptors in this new film won't be quite the heartless killing machines we saw in the original. But rest assured, you'll get your gore fix in this 8-Bit Cinema: these raptors are vicious, causing pixelated blood to spew from their victims.

The game that CineFix has cooked up looks much better than many of the Jurassic Park games we've had over the years, which ranged from top-down shooters to a full-fledged dinosaur fighting game. This one is a side-scrolling survival game, which looks like it just might have worked if it had been made into a game way back when.

And even in 8-bit form, John Williams' iconic Jurassic Park theme still sounds perfect. Cinema scores just don't get much better than when John Williams is at the helm. Watch the full video below.
