The first half of this year is nearing its end and smartphone enthusiasts have already witnessed some top-end devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, HTC One M9, LG G4, Xperia Z3+ and more.
The second half of this year will be no less and smartphone lovers are hoping to come across some of the most-anticipated handsets such as the iPhone 6s, Galaxy Note 5, OnePlus Two and many more.
Here is a list of some smartphones that are speculated to be launched between July and December this year.
iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 6c
Apple normally launches its iPhones in September. Rumors suggest that the next-generation iPhones dubbed iPhones 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will also accompany the successor of the iPhone 5c called the iPhone 6c.
The iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus are expected to be equipped with a 12MP camera. The existing iPhone 6 does not have optical image stabilization (OIS). A previous report suggests that Apple may include the feature in the upcoming iPhone 6s. The iPhone 6 Plus already features OIS so it is highly likely that it will also feature in iPhone 6s Plus.
Both the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus are powered by the A8 processor and 1GB RAM. Speculations are rife that the next-gen iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus will boast a faster A9 processor and either 1.5GB or 2GB RAM.
Customers looking for a new color option for their handset may have a reason to rejoice as the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus may also be available in rose gold. Apple is also estimated to incorporate better voice quality and touch display in its upcoming handset.
A previous report highlighted that Apple may have accidentally revealed the successor of the iPhone 5c on its own website. While Apple did not introduce a new iteration of the iPhone 5c in 2014, some experts suggests that iPhone 6c may be introduced in September this year.
Samsung Galaxy Note 5
The Galaxy Note 5 remains one of the highly anticipated smartphones of this year. All the previous models in the Galaxy Note series have successfully attracted smartphones overs and tech gurus alike and the upcoming phablet is expected to be no less.
Previous rumors indicated at a July launch for the Galaxy Note 5 but a previous report cites JK Shin, the CEO of Samsung, and suggests that the handset will launch this fall at the IFA Berlin that kicks off on Sept. 4 this year.
Not much is known about the tech specs of the Galaxy Note 5 but some rumors claim that the handset will sport a massive 5.9-inch 2K Super AMOLED display. Under the hood will be a powerful updated octa-core Exynos 7422 processor and a giant battery capacity of 4,100mAh.
While smartphone enthusiasts will hope that the Galaxy Note 5 will come running on Android M straight out of the box, a previous report also highlights that the phablet may not get Android M and may come running on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Nexus 5 2015, or LG Bullhead
Google launched the Nexus 6 in October 2014 and shipping started in November 2014. The Nexus 5 was also launched in October 2013 and ready for delivery in November 2013. It should not come as a surprise if the next-generation Nexus 5 2015 is launched in October this year.
Per a recent report LG will make the handset, which will also be called LG Bullhead.
The display size is expected to be in the range of 5.2-inch to 5.5-inch. A battery in the range of 2,700mAh is expected to power the smartphone. A Snapdragon 808 processor, the same hexa-core processor used in the latest LG G4, is expected to boost the performance of the device.
Normally Nexus devices are the first to get Android's latest operating system, which means that the handset is highly likely to come running on Android M.
LG G4 Pro
LG recently released the LG G4 in the U.S. and company officials have confirmed that they are working on a smartphone - dubbed LG G4 Pro - which will be announced in the second half of 2015.
Reports suggest that the handset will feature a metal case. A 16MP primary camera, 4GB RAM and display in the range of 5.7-inch to 5.9-inch are expected in the LG G4 Pro.
Not much is known about the rumored LG G4 Pro but the smartphone is expected to take on the upcoming Galaxy Note 5 and iPhone 6s Plus, which means that the handset will include top-end hardware specs.
OnePlus 2
The OnePlus One has taken the hearts of many smartphone lovers. Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus introduced and released the OnePlus One in April 2014. It has been over a year since the OnePlus One debuted and now the company is gearing up to launch the successor of the handset called OnePlus Two.
Just like the OnePlus One, the OnePlus Two is also expected to boast a 5.5-inch screen. However, the company is expected to beef up the display to 2,560 x 1,440 screen resolution. The OnePlus Two is also expected to get a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset and 4GB RAM for fast performance.
A 16MP primary camera and a 5MP rear-facing camera is expected to be equipped on the OnePlus Two. The OnePlus One had a 3,100mAh battery but the OnePlus Two may come running on a 3,300mAh battery.
The OnePlus Two is expected for a Q3 2015 launch.
All the above smartphones are packed with impressive hardware specs. It remains to be seen which handset attracts most smartphones customers.
