Apple Outs 'Move to iOS' App To Help You Transition Easily From Android To iOS

Apple is making it easier for new converts to make the switch from Android to its newest update, iOS 9.

The unannounced Move to iOS app will reportedly come with the latest upgrade that lets users wirelessly make the switch by transferring all their messages, photos, videos, browsing bookmarks, mail accounts, calendars, wallpapers, and DRM-free media to their new iPhone.

DRM-protected songs and eBooks are not eligible to be transferred.

In addition, any paid Android apps that have App store equivalents, will be automatically added to their Wishlist as well.

Apple has certainly been stepping up its game in trying to convince users to leave behind their Android phones and come over to the Apple side. Previously, it has already made available a step-by-step tutorial on how to manually transfer all the important data from an old phone into a new iPhone.

This app, which is likely to come bundled with the iOS 9 update in the Fall, just makes that entire process a whole lot easier.

Some reports are still unclear on how exactly Apple will pull off a seamless, wireless transfer experience of data between operating systems and platforms. With no officially released App, it seems like we won't even get a peek at it until iOS 9 comes out.

According to industry experts, conversion is a numbers game that Apple has to play at the moment. Getting as many users to make the big switch to iOS, this app is being viewed by some that the company is getting more aggressive in convincing users to leave Android for a new iPhone.

Earlier in the year, Tim Cook announced at Apple's fiscal year Q2 2015 earnings call that Apple experienced the "highest rate of switchers to iOS" that quarter.

And even more, Apple shows on its website that users can recycle their old Android phones for free at any Apple store once they have made the switch.
