The Red Wedding, the Red Sea, the Red Woman, and not to mention all that beheading and stabbing. Sure there are also the men who take the Black on the Wall to protect the Realm against the White Walkers, but Game of Thrones sure has one predominant color theme in its palette.
So get those red crayons ready because rumor has it that the Song of Ice and Fire series is going to get its very own coloring book - Overseen by none other than George R.R. Martin himself.
The coloring books will be published by Bantam and will hit the shelves this Fall - much more quickly than the next book in the series, Wind of Change.
According to a press release by Bantam publishers, the made for adult coloring book "will feature 45 original black and white illustrations, inspired by characters, scenes, locations and other iconic images from Martin's wildly successful 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series."
This will not be the first made for adult coloring book series to be published. Other successful titles were "Enchanted Forest" and "Secret Garden" by Johanna Basford which have been marketed as a return to childhood and even as therapeutic, bringing adults back to a time in their lives of creativity.
Although still within the fantasy genre, we expect the Game of Thrones coloring book pages to be much less florally than those previous titles were, and quite possibly not as calming as well.
Afterall, with so much blood, dragons, and [SPOILER ALERT!] human burnt offering within the story lines of A Song of Ice and Fire both in the books and on the HBO television series, you'd better hoard all your red and orange crayons for this not too kid-friendly coloring book.
